Till We Meet Again

My Grandpa passed away November 27, 2011. My mom asked me to write what I thought of my Grandpa, this is what I came up with.

A few months ago I decided to visit my Grandparent's after work, little did I know that would be the last time I would see my Grandpa before he got sick. During this visit I was fortunate enough to have some one on one time with my grandparents. My Grandpa kept telling me how much he loved my Grandma and how amazing she is. I want to find a Man that loves me as much as my Grandpa loved my Grandma.

I remember going to lunch, Chinese-it was his favorite, with my grandpa shortly after I graduated high school. The entire meal he told me how proud he was of me and my siblings for our accomplishments but mostly for our desire to be good members of the church.

My Grandpa called me Veronica Lake after an actress he had loved, he thought that I looked like her. Every time he saw me he would say the same thing. "Chandra, I can't wait for tomorrow" I would respond, "Why is that Grandpa?" He would smile and say, "because you get prettier everyday!" He had a way of always making me feel loved and important.

He was an amazing man, I learned so much from him. I will miss him but am so grateful for the knowledge that our family can be together again.
